Another sketch environment for my personal project.
Hoping to take some of these to completion once I've defined a decent part of the world, we'll see.
I've always been more of a value/shape sketcher than a line drawer so this is essentially how I start all my images. It helps me to focus on the overall shapes/lighting and composition first. I find separating it like that results in a better final image every time. Sometimes when I know the colors I'm going for I'll also include color at this stage.
Done last night around 60 minutes.
